Nyemba to launch WEDO Harare

                  Vimbai Nyemba

As we eagerly anticipate the Women Entrepreneurship Day Summit on November 29th at Hatfield Elite Academy in Harare, we are thrilled to announce that Mrs. Vimbai Nyemba, the Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Justice, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs, will deliver a powerful keynote address. Her presentation will focus on the Ministry’s impactful initiatives to address the legal challenges faced by women entrepreneurs, a critical topic in advancing gender equity and economic empowerment.

Mrs. Nyemba will delve into key areas such as reforms and policies supporting women’s inheritance and property rights, which have long been barriers to women’s economic independence. She will also discuss strategies to combat gender-based violence and discrimination, both of which disproportionately affect women’s ability to thrive in business and society. Furthermore, she will outline how the Ministry collaborates with various stakeholders to enhance women’s economic empowerment through targeted programs and partnerships.

A highlight of the day will be the official launch of WEDO Harare, alongside several groundbreaking empowerment initiatives spearheaded by the Women Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO). Among these are strategic partnerships with Bindura University of Science Education and major financial institutions and corporations. These partnerships aim to equip women with essential skills in artificial intelligence, digital literacy, and financial management. By embracing technology and education, WEDO seeks to open doors for women to thrive in a rapidly changing global economy.

Mrs. Nyemba’s address will also shine a spotlight on the significant barriers faced by women entrepreneurs due to a lack of knowledge about Zimbabwe’s laws and how these gaps hinder empowerment and social progress. She will offer insights into how legal education and policy reforms can play a pivotal role in driving sustainable development for women.

The Women Entrepreneurship Day Summit is more than an event; it is a movement dedicated to fostering economic empowerment for women, connecting them to opportunities, and amplifying their voices. By creating platforms for collaboration, skill-building, and advocacy, WEDO continues to champion initiatives that enable women to overcome societal, financial, and legal obstacles.

Join us on November 29th for an inspiring and transformative day. This is your opportunity to be part of a dynamic conversation and to celebrate the resilience, innovation, and determination of women entrepreneurs. Let’s come together to redefine the future of women’s empowerment in Zimbabwe!
