Zimbabwe’s prominent legal guru and Procurement Authority of Zimbabwe board Chairperson Advocate Vimbai Nyemba will grace the Women Entrepreneurship Day Business Conference scheduled for the 2nd of June in the City of Masvingo. Nyemba is the Founding partner of V Nyemba and Associates Legal Practitioners. She has sat on several boards chief among them are Vice President SADC Lawyers Association, President of the Law Society of Zimbabwe, Council Member of Council for Higher Education, among others. Currently she is the Chancellor of the Diocese of Harare- Advisory to the Bishop. She is also the President of SADC Lawyers Association.Nyemba has won a number of awards including the African Leadership Awards presented in recognition of distinguished leadership contribution that has inspirational footprints awarded by Legacy Building Leaders on the 20th of March 2022, Businesswoman of the year Platinum Winner of 2021 by Megafest Business Awards, Honorary Award for Leadership Excellence by Zimbabwe CEO’s Network 2021, Outstanding Legal Practitioner of Repute 2021 by CEO’s Network. Nyemba was nominated as one of the 50 Most Influential Women in Zimbabwe by Women Corporate Directors Network in 2021.She has written a book entitled ‘Entrepreneurship through Procurement’.
The conference will mark the 10th anniversary of WEDO since it was launched at the United Nations in 2013. The day will also see the proclamation of the newly appointed WEDO Ambassador. Various stakeholders will converge at the Lees Inn Hotel to celebrate the proclamation of the WEDO Ambassador for Masvingo Province, Benonia Machavuda .
Another Guest speaker to note at the Conference is Rugare Makumbe. Rugare is the Head of Operations at Red Sphere Finance a Subsidiary of CBZ Holdings. She is an enthusiastic young professional and talent management advocate. With more than 12 years in the Finance Industry and remarkable experience in MFI and SME lending, treasury operations, Retail banking, Credit Operations and Credit management. Rugare has held various positions at Banc Abc and Homelink where she was involved in in the startup and transformation of existing Microfinance Institutions and trebling the loan books in the process.
