In pursuit of Greatness

Angeline Zimbwani Mikiri is a Zimbabwean woman who has discovered new greatness in herself and is keen to transform the lives of women.

She is a mother and a business woman who wants to formulate win-win strategies that can result in people scaling greater heights.

She is the manager of Ken Mufuka Foundation which helps students with scholarships to study abroad and is also the board chairperson of Masvingo Polytechnic.

She also the Founder of Rock Solid Trust an organizations which works with communities so as to formulate winning strategies.

She is also the Founder of Shekinah Media which publishes The Great Zimbabwe Times Magazine, Invest in Masvingo Magazine and The Influential Woman Magazine. Angie is the country Ambassador for Women Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO). WEDO is a global movement celebrated in over 144 countries and works with various organizations to promote women entrepreneurs.

Angie was nominated as one of the 50 Inspirational Women in Zimbabwe 2021 by the Institute of Corporate Directors Zimbabwe. The award was conferred by the Ambassador of Australia to Zimbabwe.  She has done a number of projects and trained many women as a way of empowering them. In 2021, Angie was also selected as the Megafest Female Director of the Year 2021 in Zimbabwe. She has mentored a lot of girls in the communities and promoted development of Africa through hosting some Investment and Leadership conferences. Through the Mufuka Foundation, Angie has conducted public lectures in Zimbabwean Universities and in West Africa.

But all has not been rosy for Angie. She lost her parents at the age of 16 and experienced the difficult life facing orphans.

“You must not let your background or where you came from control you, but rather you need to aspire to change your story in spite of how you were raised,” she said.

Angeline is a woman who wants to see other women breaking the shackles of fear that stop them from succeeding in life. She believes women must overcome every challenge they face and strive for greatness. “Surround yourself with people who are able to mentor you to be a great person so that you may be able to achieve your full potential,” she says.

Angie has started a Confidence Building programme which empowers women to boost their confidence. This programme positions them to stand out from the crowds and prove to the world that they are no lesser beings when compared to men.

“The world is waiting for female game changers therefore we must recreate something new which will be beneficial to all the people and bring about positive change. But we need to see value in ourselves first before we can be recognized by others,” said Angie.
