"Transformation of Industry through modernisation,key to economic growth"-Lindi Mpofu

She is an experienced multi-faceted, accomplished Zimbabwean woman entrepreneur who is a seasoned chrome miner owning a small scale mining operation in Mashonaland Central, an agriculturist currently farming horticultural products and rearing breeding livestock. She is also a partner in a beverage manufacturing company. Having grown up being exposed to a business environment
as her father was invested in tourism, manufacturing and agriculture. Lindiwe Mpofu sought throughout her working life to expose herself to various international and local economic sectors in both a professional capacity and business owner capacity. She believes this has given her invaluable experience in running her own operations successfully, despite being a woman in some of the more male dominated sectors she has chosen to operate in. A former Vice President of Zimbabwe Miners Federation and recognised as one of the most inspirational and influential women in mining and named amongst the top 40 small scale miners in the country. Apart from running her current business ventures Lindiwe currently sits as an National Executive Member of the Business Economic and Empowerment Forum as Treasury General & Agriculture Governor. B.E.E.F is a business and economic empowerment forum that works to partner with government to develop policies which promote economic growth and formalization within the indigenous private business sector. In this role she will is primarily utilizing her expertise in Agriculture and Agro processing to engage government in policy framework and participating in various funding, development and empowerment activities. As B.E.E.F governor she is responsible for supporting the agricultural sector and working towards fulfilling the objectives of the sector in conjunction with Ministry of Agriculture, public and private stakeholders, farmer's unions and associations to help strengthen agriculture in our country.One woman who is determined to make a positive and impactful contribution within the sector and assist towards achieving 2030 vision. She strongly believes that for our Agricultural, Mining and Manufacturing sectors to grow we must endeavour to grow industry through transformation and modernisation as well as value addition of our raw materials by moving up the value chain. "Our strategy as a country should largely seek to increase the utilisation of local factors of production in goods and services that are consumed in the country. I believe there's a bright future for Zimbabwe and that women are the future. We must continue to encourage each other as women to work towards growing our economy and proferring business solutions despite the economic challenges we face." She concludes"
